The 'heddle' lifts up and down a different set of threads, making weaving fun and easy to learn for beginners of any age. It also features the 'warp beam' and 'cloth beam' and they allow you to weave a longer fabric. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe workshop covers four (4) weaving techniques: Plain Weave, Pick \u0026amp; Pick, Clasped Weft, and Supplementary Weft. You will be weaving at your own pace, and trying all techniques is optional. Then, you will be introduced to how most floor looms are designed as you insert each thread through the heddles and the reed. The heddle is the device that allows you to lift and push down set of threads so you can weave with help., while the reed is the 'comb' that beats down the threads to make the fabric.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eBy the end of the session, you will have a clearer understanding of the weaving process and most importantly, a deeper appreciation of the beautiful process of weaving!\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIt is a stand-alone class, separate from the weaving workshop, because this will teach you a completely different set of skills. It can be a bit more technical, but this is the reality of a handwoven fabric--half of the work is setting it up!
