Skill level: advanced

Instructor: Judith Basco

Schedule: December 2, 2-5pm (3 hours)

This in-person session focuses on your next steps after learning the basics of weaving on a frame loom. Prior knowledge to the foundational techniques is required before taking this course! If you'd like to start with the beginner's lessons, click here!

For this 3-hour class, you will be introduced to tapestry weaving as we create shapes and translate your designs through yarns. Bring your own kit, and you are allowed to go crazy on my pile of my fibers!

Lessons include designing your piece, incorporating shapes into your weave, and connecting rows through hatching.

About the Instructor: Judith Basco is a fiber artist and a peasant advocate based in Pasig, Metro Manila. She started @theartofyarn on Instagram in 2018 and has taught kids and adults the art of weaving since 2019. Aside from weaving, she also practices Latch & Locker Hooking, Crochet, Macrame, and other fun fiber crafts to create her pieces. A big part of what she does is to help beginners learn the fundamentals of weaving to help bring appreciation and recognition to this cultural craft. You can check out her work here.

The Workshop Space: Our humble weaving studio is located in Pasig, Metro Manila. You will be sent a text/message with complete instructions on how to best find us at least a week before our workshop date. We can only host a maximum of five (5) people at the moment and will push through with the session for a minimum of three (3) participants. If the minimum number of participants is not met, we will have to postpone until the next available class date.

Cancellations: All sales are final, but can be transferred or rescheduled in case you can no longer attend the in-person class. However, we require at least a written notice 48 hours before the date to allow us to adjust accordingly.

If you already own a weaving kit, you may opt to purchase 'Lessons Only' and kindly send me a message on Instagram so I can check the materials you have to ensure that you have everything we'll need for the class.

Pay in installments: I now offer a 3-month interest-free installment plan via Atome (see how it works here) or a 50% down payment transaction with the full balance paid on our workshop day (please send me a dm so I can guide you on this).

Private workshops: I offer discounts for private workshops, please send me an email at
