[Sept 29, 9am] Modern Weaving on a Frame Loom Workshop

This is a 3 to 4-hour guide session on creating your first handwoven piece using modern weaving techniques on a frame loom.

Weaving is one of the oldest methods of creating fabric and is a celebrated cultural practice in the Philippines. This workshop introduces Modern Weaving, a contemporary take on the traditional practice that makes it easier to learn the craft at your own pace, capacity, and space.

By the end of our session, you will finish a special handwoven wall hanging to take home, with enough skills and confidence to weave more at home.

Lessons include materials discussion, warping your loom, staple weaving techniques and their variations, and a little Q&A on translating your fun ideas for your next projects. An online bonus guide will also be provided on taking your piece off the loom and finishing it as a personal souvenir, a woven wall hanging.

Skill level: Beginner-level and experienced weavers are welcome to join here!

Can kids join the workshop? Kids at least 10 y/o and above can join this class. Younger students can sign up for classes flexible for little weavers here!

Studio location: We are on the 2nd floor of First Capitol Place, units 203 & 204, in Kapitolyo Pasig. Parking spot is first come, first served but you can always park along the street (at your own risk!).
